Primally Pure Soothing Cream

Important note on skincare creams

Skincare products sit on the skin for long periods of time, so I pay attention to ingredient transparency and how the formula is built. I look for simple, purposeful ingredients and clear labeling so I know what I’m putting on my skin.

What I look for

With skincare, I look for short ingredient lists made up of recognizable oils, fats, and extracts. I pay attention to preservative choices and prefer formulas that rely on simpler, well-understood approaches rather than complex systems. I also look to avoid polyethylene glycol (PEGs), ethoxylated ingredients, synthetic dyes, and petroleum-based ingredients when they’re clearly listed.

Things to keep in mind

This cream contains essential oils. Essential oils can sometimes carry trace contaminants depending on sourcing and processing, which is why I prioritize products that use high-quality, safety-tested oils. Skin tolerance varies, so a patch test can be helpful if you’re sensitive or new to essential oil–based skincare.
