MamaSuds Extra Strength Oxygen Powder

Important note on oxygen powders

Oxygen powders are one of my favorite multi-use cleaners because they help tackle tough grime without relying on harsh fumes or disinfectant-style ingredients. Many conventional stain removers and scrub products lean on chlorine bleach, heavy fragrance, or aggressive chemicals that aren’t necessary for everyday cleaning.

What I avoid in oxygen powders and cleaning boosters

For this category, I avoid chlorine bleach, optical brighteners, quaternary ammonium compounds (quats), glycol ethers and other solvent-type ingredients, petroleum-based solvents, methylisothiazolinone (MIT), dimethicone, and undisclosed or toxic fragrance blends. These ingredients are often added to force whitening, scent, or speed, but they can leave residue or create unnecessary exposure.

Product description

MamaSuds Oxygen Powder is a concentrated, two-ingredient cleaner made with sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate. When mixed with water, it releases oxygen bubbles that help break down stains, grease, and buildup.

In addition to using it as a laundry booster, this is what I typically reach for as a gentle scrub. I mix it with a small amount of water to create a paste and use it to clean sinks, tubs, and tough grime on oven interiors and stovetops. It gives scrubbing power without the harsh fumes that come with many conventional oven and sink cleaners.

What I like

I like that it’s made with just two mineral ingredients and doesn’t rely on fragrance, fillers, or bleach.

It works across multiple cleaning tasks — laundry, sinks, and heavier grime — which helps simplify what I keep on hand.

It gives real cleaning power while still aligning with how I approach low-tox home care.

Things to keep in mind

This is a powder, so I avoid creating dust when scooping and store it sealed and dry.

It’s not intended for delicate materials like wool, silk, leather, or unfinished surfaces.
