MamaSuds Laundry Stain Stick

Important note on stain removers

Stain removers are one of those categories where brands love to throw in “extra power” ingredients that aren’t always necessary. A lot of conventional options use heavy fragrance, solvent-type ingredients, optical brighteners, or preservative systems that can linger on fabric and irritate sensitive skin.

What I avoid in stain removers

For this category, I avoid glycol ethers and other solvent-type ingredients, petroleum-based solvents, quaternary ammonium compounds (quats), methylisothiazolinone (MIT), dimethicone, optical brighteners, and undisclosed or toxic fragrance blends. These ingredients are often used to force fast results or add scent, but they can be irritating and don’t fit how I like to treat laundry that sits against skin.

Product description

MamaSuds Laundry Stain Stick is a simple pre-treat bar made with one ingredient: sodium olivate (saponified olive oil). That’s it. It’s designed to be rubbed directly onto stains before washing, and it works well for everyday spots without relying on added fragrance, solvents, or filler ingredients.

I like having a stain stick like this on hand because it keeps stain treating straightforward and easy, especially for kid messes, food spills, and general life stains.

Certifications

• Leaping Bunny Certified (brand stated)
• Vegan (brand stated)

What I like

I like that it’s a true one-ingredient stain stick, which makes it easy to avoid MIT, fragrance blends, and solvent boosters.

It’s simple to use, travels well, and lasts a long time.

Things to keep in mind

This is a soap-based stain treatment, so it works best when you wet the fabric first and really work it into the stain.

For tougher stains, letting it sit for a few minutes (or longer) before washing can help.
