Everyone Coconut + Lemon Hand Sanitizer
Important Note on Hand Sanitizers
When researching hand sanitizers, I look for formulas with at least 60% alcohol, since the CDC recommends this concentration when soap and water aren't available.
Beyond the active ingredient, I pay close attention to the rest of the formula. I avoid ingredients like benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride, triclosan, chloroxylenol, artificial dyes, undisclosed fragrance blends, parabens, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, and ethoxylated ingredients such as PEGs.
I also look for brands that disclose their scent ingredients and include moisturizing ingredients to help offset alcohol's drying effects.

What I Like
Everyone has a relatively simple formula without several of the ingredients I typically avoid in hand sanitizers, including quaternary ammonium compounds, artificial dyes, parabens, and ethoxylated ingredients.
I also appreciate that the brand discloses the individual ingredients used to create its coconut and lemon scent rather than listing an unspecified fragrance blend.
The added glycerin, organic aloe vera, and botanical extracts are another plus, especially for a product you may use multiple times throughout the day.
Things to Keep in Mind
Although Everyone discloses its scent ingredients, this isn't a fragrance-free product. Lemon peel oil, limonene, heliotropine, and certain botanical extracts may irritate the skin or cause allergic reactions, especially for those with sensitive skin or fragrance allergies.
Limonene can also become more likely to trigger skin allergies over time when exposed to air.
EWG rates this formula a 3, with ingredient-related allergy concerns contributing to its assessment.
As with other alcohol-based hand sanitizers, frequent use may dry out the skin. Since this is a spray, avoid inhaling the mist and use it in a well-ventilated area. Children should use alcohol-based sanitizers with adult supervision.
