I personally prefer nickel-free stainless, like 18/0, but 18/8 (304) stainless is a common option and can work well if you’re not nickel-sensitive. For added components, I’m mindful of what comes into contact with food and look for simple, clearly labeled materials.

What I like

The lids are a reasonable compromise for storage as long as they’re BPA-free and not made from PVC or PUR.
