Earth Mama Organic Baby Face Nose & Cheek Balm
Important note on baby balms
When I’m choosing a balm for baby’s face, nose, and cheeks, I look for formulas that provide simple, supportive moisture without added fragrance or unnecessary ingredients. Because this is a leave-on product that can be used around sensitive areas like the mouth and nose, ingredient transparency and gentle plant-based components are priorities for me.
What I avoid in balms and skin moisturizers
In this category, I avoid products with undisclosed fragrance blends or vague “fragrance/parfum” labeling, phenoxyethanol in baby products, parabens, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, petroleum-derived ingredients like mineral oil, petrolatum, dimethicone, and propylene glycol, and antibacterial additives such as triclosan, triclocarban, benzalkonium chloride, or similar ingredients that are designed to kill bacteria rather than support everyday skin care.
Product description
Earth Mama Organic Baby Face Nose & Cheek Balm is a rich, plant-based balm designed to help moisturize dry, chapped, or irritated skin on baby’s face, nose, and cheeks. The formula blends gentle plant oils and butters with calendula flower extract to provide a comforting alternative to petroleum jelly and heavier ointments.
This balm can be a helpful part of a baby’s routine when skin needs more support, and because it’s free of added fragrance and unnecessary additives, it’s a straightforward option for sensitive skin.

What I like
I like that it uses a short, clearly labeled list of organic plant oils and butters, avoids added fragrance and petroleum-based ingredients, and provides gentle, effective moisture for sensitive baby skin.
Things to keep in mind
Because this is a richer balm, a little goes a long way, so I recommend starting with a small amount and building as needed.
Many botanical and plant-derived ingredients commonly used in baby and sensitive-skin products are generally well tolerated when used topically, but individual sensitivities can still occur. Calendula is commonly used topically and is generally well tolerated on the skin, with most safety discussions referring to oral use rather than topical application. Patch testing is always a helpful step, especially for babies, those with very sensitive skin, or those with known plant allergies.
