Earth Friendly Products Window & Glass Cleaner
Important note on cleaning products
When I choose cleaners for my home, I focus on what actually matters for everyday exposure rather than marketing language. I avoid bleach, ammonia, quaternary ammonium compounds (quats), high-VOC solvent chemistry, harsh degreasers, and aggressive preservatives like methylisothiazolinone or methylchloroisothiazolinone. I also avoid undisclosed “fragrance” blends that can mask complex chemical mixtures. For routine glass and window cleaning, I prefer products that clean effectively without introducing unnecessary chemical stress into indoor air or onto surfaces where food may be prepared.
What this cleaner is
This window and glass cleaner is formulated to cut through fingerprints, smudges, and everyday film on glass, mirrors, and other reflective surfaces. The formula leans on plant- and mineral-derived surfactants rather than heavy solvents or strong disinfectant chemistry to get things clear and streak-free.
What I like
I like that this cleaner avoids the harsher chemistries I try to keep out of my daily cleaning routine, including bleach, ammonia, and quats. The ingredient approach emphasizes milder surfactants and simple cleaning power instead of high-VOC solvent blends that can linger in the air or on surfaces.
This makes it a good choice for regular maintenance of windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other shiny surfaces without the fumes or residue that many conventional glass cleaners leave behind. It’s more comfortable to use in spaces where kids play and where food is prepared.
Things to keep in mind
As with most gentler glass cleaners, very stubborn residue or sticky buildup may require a second pass or a microfiber cloth with a bit more elbow grease. This product is designed for routine cleaning rather than heavy degreasing.
