Bodum Chambord French Press Coffee Maker

Important Note on Coffee Appliances

When I’m choosing coffee gear, I focus on what actually comes into contact with my food and drinks. I avoid nonstick coatings, forever chemicals, aluminum touching hot liquid, heavy metals like lead and cadmium, and materials that rely on chemical finishes or nanoparticles. I prefer simple, inert materials for brewing.

Product Description

The Bodum Chambord French press brews coffee in a glass carafe using a stainless steel plunger and mesh filter. The brewing process is straightforward and manual, with no coatings or chemical surfaces involved. Coffee is brewed directly in glass and filtered through stainless steel.

What I Like

I like that the coffee-contact surfaces are limited to glass and stainless steel. There are no nonstick finishes, no aluminum in the brewing path, and no added coatings involved in the process. It’s a simple, reliable option for making coffee while keeping materials minimal and predictable.

Things to Keep in Mind

As with most French presses, fine sediment can pass through the mesh filter, depending on grind size. Glass should also be handled with care to avoid breakage from sudden temperature changes.
