Solid Sapele Wood Cutting Board
Important Note on Cutting Boards
When I’m choosing cutting boards, I prefer solid wood or stainless steel/titanium. I avoid boards made with glued layers, resins, or surface coatings and stick to materials that are naturally durable and intended for direct food contact.
Product Description
This cutting board is made from a single, solid piece of sapele wood. It has a thick profile with a perimeter juice groove to help contain liquids during prep and a built-in handle for easier lifting and serving. The board is designed for everyday use with fruits, vegetables, meats, and bread.
What I Like
I like that this board is one solid piece of wood rather than a laminated or glued construction. Food comes into contact with natural wood only, without coatings or adhesives. Solid wood is a material I’m comfortable using regularly in the kitchen and fits well alongside stainless steel prep tools.
Things to Keep in Mind
Like most solid wood boards, this one should be hand-washed and dried promptly. Occasional conditioning with a food-safe oil helps maintain the wood and extend its lifespan.
