Primally Pure Charcoal Deodorant

This aluminum-free deodorant features activated charcoal, grass-fed tallow, and essential oils to help neutralize odor and purify under-arm skin — all while avoiding synthetic fragrances, aluminum, and many of the usual suspects in conventional antiperspirants.

Ingredients:
Organic Arrowroot Powder • Organic & Fair-Trade Coconut Oil • Baking Soda • Organic Tallow (from Grass-Fed Cows) • Organic Beeswax • Non-nano Zinc Oxide • Kaolin Clay • Activated Charcoal • Essential Oils of Organic Eucalyptus & Organic Peppermint • Organic Rosemary Extract • Non-GMO Vitamin E

What I like:

  • Uses a simple, thoughtful base of plant- and animal-derived ingredients (arrowroot, coconut oil, tallow) instead of heavy synthetics.

  • Activated charcoal and kaolin clay help control odor and detoxify build-up rather than just masking it.

  • Free from aluminum, artificial fragrance blends, and common “hidden” toxins that I’m avoiding in my low-tox approach.

  • The scent is fresh (eucalyptus + peppermint), which feels clean and uplifting — if you don’t mind a light aroma.

  • Good option for someone shifting toward safer deodorant picks under the Feather & Nest criteria.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Contains baking soda (in the original version), which can be irritating for ultra-sensitive underarms, so a patch test is wise.

  • Includes tallow (animal-derived fat) — great for some skin types, but worth noting for vegan readers.

  • Even though it avoids aluminum and many common toxins, natural deodorant transitions can take time and may perform differently depending on your sweat/odor level.
