Mushie Bath Boats

Important note on bath toys

Bath toys are used in warm water, handled constantly, and often brought close to the mouth. When I’m choosing bath toys, I look closely at both the material and the design. I prefer toys that are easy to rinse and fully dry and brands that are clear about what type of material is being used and what it’s intended for.

What I avoid in bath toys

In this category, I avoid PVC and PUR materials and plastics that aren’t clearly identified. I also avoid bath toys with holes or sealed cavities (like traditional rubber duckies) that pull water inside and don’t fully dry. I look for open designs that allow water to drain easily. Even with materials I’m comfortable with, I don’t expose toys to heat or hot water, since heat can cause materials to break down faster over time.

Product description

Mushie Bath Boats are a simple, stackable bath toy set designed for open-ended water play. The set includes five boats that link together, float, stack, and scoop water, encouraging fine motor skills, coordination, and imaginative play during bath time. The open design helps water rinse out easily rather than becoming trapped inside the toy.

Materials

The brand states these bath boats are made from 100% food-grade polypropylene (PP) plastic and are free from PVC, BPA, BPS, and phthalates. In the world we live in today, PP is not considered a high-concern plastic, and I appreciate that the brand clearly identifies the material and what’s intentionally excluded.

That said, this is a bath and play toy — not a teether. While PP is commonly used and considered a more stable plastic, it’s not something I personally want kids chewing on regularly or for extended periods.

What I like

I like the material transparency and the fact that these are clearly labeled as PVC-free. I also appreciate the open, hole-free design, which makes them easier to rinse and dry between uses.
