What I Like

  • Uses mineral pigments and botanical oils instead of petrochemicals, parabens, or synthetic dyes.

  • Coconut oil, vitamin E, and natural waxes nourish the delicate eye area.

  • Glides smoothly for easy application without tugging.

  • Gentle for sensitive eyes and reactive skin.

  • Clean, low-tox formulation backed by rigorous third-party certifications.

EWG Rating: 3 — This score relates mainly to mineral pigment contamination concerns in general cosmetic supply chains, not intentionally added harmful ingredients. INIKA’s certifications offer added reassurance regarding purity and contaminant testing.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Creamier, oil-rich formulas can smudge more easily on oily lids — setting can help extend wear.

  • Contains benzyl alcohol, which may cause mild irritation for extremely sensitive eyes.

  • Natural formulas may not be as long-wearing as waterproof, synthetic liners.

  • Shade intensity can vary slightly due to mineral pigment differences.

Sensitive Skin & Pregnancy Considerations

Mineral pigments, coconut oil, vegetable waxes, oryzanol, and vitamin E are generally considered low risk for topical use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Carnauba and candelilla waxes are plant-based and widely regarded as safe for pregnancy in cosmetic use.

Benzyl alcohol is used at very low preservation levels and is typically considered compatible with pregnancy, though those with very sensitive skin or eyes may want to patch test.
