Healthy Human Stainless Steel Tumbler

Important note on tumblers

Tumblers are something you’re using all day, whether it’s water, coffee, or iced drinks. And because you’re constantly drinking from them, the materials they’re made with actually matter more than most people think.

From what I’ve learned, stainless steel and glass tend to be more stable options. Plastic can break down over time, hold on to buildup more easily, and just isn’t something I prefer for something I use this often.

That being said, most tumblers still include some plastic, especially in lids and seals. So it’s less about finding something perfect and more about making a better overall choice.

What I try to avoid

• Plastic lining on the inside of the tumbler
• Low quality or unclear materials
• Too many plastic parts touching the liquid
• Lids that are hard to fully clean
• Designs where water can sit and build up over time

What I look for instead

• Stainless steel for the main body
• Double-wall insulation so it actually holds temperature
• Less contact between liquid and plastic
• Fewer coatings. Do not place in dishwasher if there are coatings on the outside of the tumbler.
• Something that holds up with daily use

Product description

This tumbler features a stainless steel body and is designed for everyday use.

It uses double-wall insulation, so it keeps drinks hot or cold longer and doesn't sweat on the outside. It’s the kind of cup you can use throughout the day without constantly refilling or dealing with condensation.

The main body, being stainless steel, is what stands out to me. That’s what I personally look for when I’m trying to move away from plastic where I can. Like most tumblers, the lid and straw are still plastic, which is standard across pretty much all options.

Things to keep in mind

The main body is stainless steel, but the lid and straw still use plastic, which is typical for this category. Those are the parts you want to stay on top of cleaning, since buildup tends to happen there the most. Stainless steel holds up better over time, but like anything you’re using daily, it still needs regular cleaning. This is more about making a better everyday swap, not finding something completely plastic free.
