Epic Pure Water Filter Pitcher

Important note on water filtration

When it comes to drinking water, I care less about “pretty” and more about what’s actually being removed. My focus is on reducing exposure to contaminants like PFAS, heavy metals, chlorine, and other common tap water pollutants that can add up over time. Clean water is foundational, and filtration is one of the biggest upgrades you can make in a low-tox home.

Materials

This pitcher is made with BPA- and BPS-free Tritan plastic. While it isn’t glass or stainless steel, Tritan is one of the safer plastic options used for food and water contact. In this case, you’re not adding acid, fat, or heat, which significantly limits the potential for leaching during normal use.

Product description

Epic offers several filtration options depending on your needs, including pitchers, dispensers, and on-the-go bottles. The Pure pitcher is designed for everyday use and fits easily in the fridge. It uses a high-performance filter that targets PFAS, lead, chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and other common tap water contaminants. The focus here is meaningful filtration, not just better-tasting water.

What I like

I like that this system prioritizes reducing PFAS and heavy metals, which are among the more challenging contaminants to control through food choices alone. It’s a practical option if you’re not ready for an under-sink or whole-house system, and it makes drinking filtered water easy and consistent. While the pitcher itself is plastic, the lack of heat, fat, or acidity—combined with the level of contaminant reduction- makes this a trade-off I’m comfortable with.

Things to keep in mind

This pitcher uses plastic rather than glass or stainless steel, which may not be ideal if your goal is zero plastic in your kitchen. For many people, it serves as a realistic middle ground while still significantly improving water quality.
