Earth Mama Simply Non-Scents Foaming Castile Soap

Important note on hand soaps

Hand soap is something I use constantly, so I want it to rinse clean and feel comfortable on skin without relying on harsh foaming agents or unnecessary additives. I also look for ingredient lists that are fully disclosed and simple, because this is one of those daily-use products where “extras” add up fast.

What I avoid in hand soaps

In this category, I avoid undisclosed or toxic fragrance blends, parabens, SLS/SLES, ethoxylated ingredients (like PEGs, polysorbate 20, or ingredients ending in “-eth”), cocamidopropyl betaine when possible, methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone (MIT/MCI), quats like benzalkonium chloride, and dimethicone. I prefer true soap-based formulas that clean effectively and don’t leave hands feeling stripped or coated.

What I like

I like that it’s genuinely unscented and keeps the formula simple and transparent.

It’s a true soap-based option that avoids the surfactant and preservative categories I try to stay away from in hand soaps.

The added calendula, aloe, and shea butter make it feel more comfortable for frequent washing.

Things to keep in mind

Because this is a true soap, hard water can sometimes affect how it feels and rinses. If your water is mineral-heavy, rinsing well helps.

Soap-based foaming products can feel different than conventional high-foam hand soaps, but that doesn’t mean they’re less effective.
