Aloe Cadabra Natural Organic Aloe Lubricant (Unscented & Unflavored)
This water-based lubricant is built around organic aloe as the primary ingredient, which gives it a lighter, hydrating feel without relying on silicone or petroleum-derived glide agents. The texture is smooth and comfortable, and because it’s water-based, it rinses clean and doesn’t leave that heavy coating some lubricants do.
Even though this is labeled “unscented & unflavored,” it does include an organic vanilla concentrate, which can add a very mild sensory note without reading like a traditional fragrance. Overall, this is a solid “next best” low-tox option in a category where many popular lubricants use ingredients I personally avoid.

What I Like
EWG rating: 3, based on entering the ingredient list into the EWG Skin Deep Analyzer.
I like that this formula starts with organic aloe as the base, which keeps it simple and supportive for hydration without silicone or petroleum-based ingredients.
The ingredient list is straightforward and readable, with a familiar thickener (xanthan gum) and common food-grade preservatives.
This is a good option for people who want a cleaner, water-based lubricant without added synthetic fragrance.
Things to Keep in Mind
Because this is water-based, it may require reapplication compared to silicone lubricants.
Even “unscented” formulas can include botanical concentrates. The organic vanilla concentrate is still an added component, so if you’re extremely sensitive, that’s something to be aware of.
Preservatives like sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are common in water-based products to prevent microbial growth, but highly reactive individuals may prefer patch testing.
Sensitive Skin & Pregnancy Considerations
This formula does not include retinoids, hormone-disrupting actives, petroleum occlusives, or commonly pregnancy-restricted cosmetic ingredients.
Sensitivity considerations are more individual. Aloe is generally well tolerated, but any water-based formula that includes preservatives can irritate some people, especially if the vaginal microbiome is already compromised.
If you’re prone to irritation or recurrent imbalance, patch testing or starting with a smaller amount is a reasonable approach.
Essential oil transparency note: essential oils can carry trace contaminants depending on sourcing and processing, which is why I prioritize brands that use third-party testing and ingredient quality standards to help minimize contaminants.
